Dr. Destinee Bearden - Veterinarian
Dr. Destinee Bearden, a 2008 Auburn University graduate, has joined our staff at Pell City Animal Hospital.
Dr. Bearden grew up on her family’s dairy farm in Vincent, where she spent summers working and showing dairy cattle. Dr. Bearden worked for PCAH when she was a high school student and it is here where she decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She attended Auburn University for her undergraduate studies and obtained degrees in Agricultural Business and Economics and Animal Sciences before attending veterinary school. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Bearden completed a 1-year internship in Food Animal Medicine and Surgery with Oklahoma State University working primarily with rodeo stock and beef cattle operations.
After her internship, she moved to Georgia where she has worked with mixed animal, small animal, and emergency clinics before coming home to Alabama to join Pell City Animal Hospital.
Her primary veterinary interests are internal medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, and food animal medicine. She and her husband, Tracey, have moved back to the family farm, now a functioning beef and horse operation, with their son, Mason, and 2 Labs, Bailey, and Trooper. When not working, Dr. Bearden and her family enjoy lake life, visiting with extended family, and raising Holstein dairy cattle on the farm.
