Imaging and Diagnostic Services
If your pet becomes ill, we have a fully equipped laboratory to help quickly diagnose the problems. This includes complete in house hematology and biochemical (blood) testing equipment, a state of the art radiograph machine, diagnostic ultrasonography, and transtelephonic electrocardiography (EKG). Our three Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) are trained in all of the most modern diagnostic techniques. Board Certified experts in radiology, cardiology, clinical pathology, orthopedics and other fields are always just a phone call away to help us interpret our test results and develop the best treatment plan for your pet. Digital radiographs, ultrasound images and even microscopic images can easily be transmitted to the specialists so they can see what we are seeing.
We provide digital radiography at Pell City Animal Hospital. This allows us to check internal organs such as the heart, lungs, and abdominal organs, as well as the bones and other orthopedic issues. Digital radiography provides better quality images than traditional radiography. Additionally, this technology makes it easier and faster to submit radiographs to board certified radiologists and other specialists for their expert opinions.
We use ultrasound technology at our hospital to check internal organs, including abdominal organs such as the liver, spleen, gallbladder, and kidneys. We can also use ultrasound to identify pet pregnancy and to perform echocardiogram and other heart checks.
